SUMMER PROGRAM

COMMERCIAL AUDITIONSThis is designed to teach you the basics of what you need to know in order to book a commercial.  It will cover casting room etiquette, actor preparation, on-camera technique and improvisation.  You will learn the first steps to take in order to be relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera and how to take direction and make good dramatic choices.

You will be videotaped and be able to watch yourself as a way of learning what works for you, the do’s and don’ts of commercial auditioning and ultimately feel more confident on-camera to create your best work.

FILM & TV

An introduction to acting on camera for both film and television. It will focus on being yourself and feeling comfortable on film. You will learn the basic film terminology that you will need to know in order to work in front of a camera while shooting a film.

You will begin learning the process of how to create an honest performance on camera by actor preparation, script analysis, camera technique and improvisation.  Students will begin to learn how to make character choices by using your imagination and creative instinct.

As the classes progress students will work from sides (scripts from TV shows and notable films) they will learn about an actor’s protocol on set and crew responsibilities.  They will do cold reads, work on character development and audition techniques.  The final class will culminate with a simulated commercial audition and/or TV/Film audition.
