Scholarships, Bursaries, Financial Assistance

Please don't let finances prevent you from being in our program!

No Strings Theatre offers a quality program at an extremely competitive price. Market research shows that programs such as this in downtown Toronto average $300 a week (at least 30% more than our fees) This is our first attempt to make our program affordable and attract a larger demographic pool of talented individuals.

Much as the government supports theatre projects, it does not support tuition-funded programs. In other words, because we are providing instruction/technique classes as well, this summer program is more regarded as a private educational school as opposed to a community theatre organization. We do feel our mandate to provide training as well as a community performance is an important one for the youths. We are therefore, very dependent on our tuition fees to meet our financial needs including hiring trained staff and providing a quality program.

We do realize, however, that there are families who just can't afford to send there children to camp or individuals that are supporting themselves or their own artisitic education. We have decide to create a few subsidized spaces for students who meet a number the criteria below.

The Artistic Director, certainly found herself in need as without parent financial support she managed her own education and artistic instruction since she was 18, with the assistance of  Apprenticeship bursaries.    Then later, as a single parent, could not afford to send her own children to specialty camps such as this.  She is pleased to support youths and families in this regard.
