Music Theatre Techniques  and Audition Preparation – Tweens Teens EAP

Tween (ages 10-13):

Self-confidence, creative-thinking and team-playing: These are the core principals to the No Strings Theatre Tween 10-session Music Theatre Discovery Program.
 -explore FUN music theatre techniques
-perform excerpts from the beloved musical, Oliver!
Saturday Mornings 10:30am to 12. 10 SESSIONS: Oct 7 – Dec 9
This 1.5hour weekly session looks at core music theatre techniques such as: Acting Through Song, Audition Technique, Choral-to-Solo singing, Musicianship, and Acting Through Movement Technique. Weeks 1-5 focuses on the learning and strengthening of practical music theatre techniques.
Weeks 5-10 focus shifts to the putting into practice of learned skills with the showcase performance rehearsals gearing towards a public performance with excerpts from the the beloved musical Oliver!

YOUTH (ages 13-19):

Technique, self-confidence, creative-thinking and professional industry networking: These are the core principals to the No Strings YOUTH / PRE-COLLEGE Fall Session.
-expand knowledge and technique whilst making new friends and broadening creative networks
-public performance of The Bright Lights of Broadway! a music theatre revue
Saturday Afternoons 1pm to 3pm, Oct 7 – Dec 9

This 2-hour weekly session expands on the NST signature Summer Music Theatre Intensive to develop and nurturing advanced music theatre techniques like: Acting through Song, Music Theatre Movement and Body Awareness, Audition Technique, Choral-to-Solo singing, musicianship, Acting through movement Technique. Weeks 1-6 focuses on the building and implementing advanced, pre-college level music theatre technique and audition preparation with inclusive and expansive music theatre exercises, mock panels and a guest mentor. Weeks 7-10 focus shifts to the putting into practice of learned skills with the showcase performance rehearsals gearing towards a public performance with excerpts from The Bright Lights of Broadway! a music theatre revue.
(Former guest mentors have been notable music theatre artists and head music theatre teachers at some of Canada’s top music theatre schools)

Emerging Artist Program (ages 19-35):

Honing technique, re-imagining personal potential, developing and connecting with creative contacts: These are the core principals of the No Strings Theatre Emerging Artist program.
-master your audition preparation technique, build your best rep book that highlights YOU, expand your network
-public performance of From Toronto, to Broadway! a musical revue featuring the best of either side of the border.
Friday Evenings 7pm to 9pm.
10 SESSIONS: October 6 – Dec 10

This 2-hour* weekly, Training-to-Showcase program is designed for the emerging professional artist keen to strengthen skills or reinvent themselves while expanding their network of creative comrades and professional contacts.
Weeks 1-7 focuses on solidifying audition preparation with seminars in: finding your best audition rep, Acting Through Song, the business of the BIZ, Styles-range and mastering the vocal-technique to exude confidence and cold reading. With inclusive and expansive music theatre exercises, mock panels and a guest mentor. Weeks 8-10 focus shifts to the putting into practice of learned skills with  showcase performance rehearsals gearing towards a public performance with excerpts from From Toronto, to Broadway! a musical revue featuring the best of either side of the border.

Youth FALL Drama Intensive and the culminating performances of Little Women, Directed and adapted by Patrick Maubert

Modeled with the principles of our original and signature Youth Summer Music Theatre Intensive, NST is broadening its programming with the addition of this unique theatre Intensive. Students will have sesional classes in Speech Arts & Drama, Monologue work and Shakespeare. Master Classes will be led in the typical stellar method NST students have come to expect with coaching sessions on scene work, audition prep and Classics to Modern: how to be master every era!
This inaugural season we are proud to present an adaptation of one North America’s most beloved tales of love, heartache, ambition and family.
