MISSION AND VISION

To provide the opportunity for young people to be involved in musical theatre and to develop their skills (performance, production, directorial) in all aspects of a professional stage production.

We wish to foster a  growing performing arts community from the roots up by paving the way for youth to develop excellence in their skills, expose them to career and employment opportunities as well as enrich the community arts culture at large.

For the * positions, we desire Directors and Instructors who are established professionals in their field, with experience working with this age group, are comfortable with the nature of a summer program intensive and working on a collaborative creative team.

For Associate and Production positions, including Technical Director, preference will be given to youths who are in or recently graduated from relative Post Secondary programs who wish to use these apprenticeship opportunities to further their experience and qualifications in these fields.

Dates: July 4- July 31, 2011; pre-production meetings, workshops where appropriate

Stage Director*  FILLED

The ideal candidate will be a practicing professional theatre artist, who understands professional protocol yet is familiar with issues of community theatre, have experience in directing, actor training, and educational programming with teens and young adults, is efficient, and possess the leadership and collaborative skills to guide the creative team.

 

• Salary commensurate on experience
• Equity members will be engaged under Equity's Guest Artist contract.

Drama Instructor -FILLED

This position may be handled by the stage director or associate

Mornings -1hr/day (if available, 2  pre-program workshops March & May-1hr each)

Technical Director

 In collaboration with the Artistic Director, Stage Director, and Stage Manager, will be responsible the set design and construction of a basic-level set. They will be also responsible for all coordination and problem solving required in producing the technical side of each show.  These duties include supervision of all technical departments (lighting sound, special effects), making final decisions on all technical issues, coordinating set load in, strike, load out,  trucks, rental return), participating in the scheduling process for tech week and technical deadlines ensuring the efficient use of material and manpower, and promoting and policing a safe work environment.    

Dates: July 18- July 31, 2011 (pre-camp meetings and post camp strike and return of rentals)

 

    A valid Ontario Driver's License and a vehicle is required

Assist the stage manager with production needs

Backstage coordinator and crew needs to be available for at least 2 rehearsals prior to dress rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances.

Screen Arts Student

In collaboration with the Artistic Director and assistant videographers propose and present a screen arts project from the whole camp experience. For example, a reality film on auditions, rehearsals, performances etc
